Copper Machining Service

Modle: AKH017 category:

Don’t look at those simple-looking copper machining handicrafts, but the manufacturing process of modern copper handicrafts is very complicated.

It is by no means a simple process of splicing and stacking but requires professional casting skills and complex process operations in many aspects, such as sculpture and molding, run-in, through the use of copper alloy materials, suitable for casting sculpture, high temperature, hot melt casting.

Metal Plastic Deformation Methods for copper machining processing process copper billets into sheets, strips, foils, tubes, bars, profiles, and wire.

The most important metal and plastic processing methods are rolling, extrusion, and drawing, and copper foil can also be processed by forging, deep drawing, and spinning. The manufacturing process of copper processing process will be described below.

1. Redo the mold

Different reproduction techniques are used according to specific requirements, such as the size and fineness of the sculpture.

2. the hanging shell

The purpose of the hanging shell is to form a casting cavity outside the wax mold. Generally, a water glass hanging shell is used. This is compared to traditional crafts.

3. Process casting

Prepare a spare cavity for sintering. Weigh an appropriate amount of copper, zinc, tin, and other metals proportionately, and heat them from 1000 degrees Celsius to 1500 degrees Celsius.

Until the copper and other metals in the crucible are completely melted and mixed. Then, the molten copper liquid is injected into the cavity immediately.

After cooling, the sand shell of the outer casing is broken, and the blister copper products are peeled off.

Copper machining material selection

Currently, three main types of copper commonly used in casting on the market are brass, tin bronze, and pure copper.

Brass is copper with a certain amount of zinc. Brass has excellent mechanical properties, good plasticity in both hot and cold states, easy cutting, easy brazing, and strong corrosion resistance.

Good gloss and very high precision. Moreover, the price of brass is relatively cheaper at present, and it is the most commonly used material in modern copper carving craftsmanship.

Copper alloys other than brass and cupronickel are collectively referred to as bronze. Tin bronze is the oldest alloy.

In ancient my country, it was often used to make tripods, bells, weapons, bronze mirrors, and other utensils.

Tin bronze has good corrosion resistance, good toughness, easy processing, high hardness, low compression, and good durability, and it is also a commonly used art casting material.
